Good Deeds II

When we were children, some of us were taught that a good deed was doing something good for someone else.

So, what makes a good deed good?

Once, long ago, when I was a boy living at a school for boys, It was the custom to have a movie shown for all the boys on Sunday evenings in the campus chapel. In the house where I was living there were some 35 or so of us. It came to pass on one Sunday evening, that someone had stolen a watch that belonged to one of the boys. We were all called together in the front library of our house, a large kind of living room that had lots of chairs and tables for us to do our home work and so forth.

We were all standing in a circle when we were informed that until the person who had taken the watch confessed, we would all stand there and no one would be allowed to go to the movie. We all stood there for 15 or 20 minutes. The time to go to the movie was rapidly approaching, and it appeared to me that no one was going to confess, so we would all miss the movie.

Very recently we had all been to Sunday school and heard about how Jesus sacrificed himself so we could all be saved. This had made a huge impression on my 8 year old mind, and I had been thinking about it for days.

Suddenly, I stepped forward and said, “I took the watch.” There was no long internal discussion of pros and cons here, just a kind of knee jerk reaction.

“Fine”, said the house Mother. “You stay right there and the rest of you can go to the movie.” All the other boys were marched off to the movie.

Was this a good deed?

The next few hours were a disaster. As soon as we were alone in the library, Mrs. Jenkins, now long dead, I am sure, demanded that I give her the watch. I said that I did not have the watch. This was not a good answer because it resulted in flurry of slaps and being violently shaken. I made a rapid change in strategy and said that I had thrown the watch away.

This led to an immediate application of a somewhat more brutal treatment that would get any one put in jail for child abuse today. After a brief period of this, I felt very much inclined to further confess, at the top of my lungs, that after all, I did not take the watch. I had said I did so the other boys could go to the movie.

The response to this bit of data was most unpleasant.

I do not today actually recall how this event was resolved; however, I do recall registering that this very early experiment in Jesus behavior and good deed doing was one of the dumbest moves of my 8 year old life. It was, as well, one of best lessons in my whole life.

I never really pondered on this lesson until much later. However, it came clear to me as life went along that motivation for action was crucial. What initiated my action in this early experiment had a lot more to do with my wanting to be like Jesus that it did with having the other boys go to the movie.

I thought that being like Jesus was, and is a wonderful thing. However, there were at least two things about being Jesus like that need to be considered.

1. If one takes the time to actually look at what we have of a historical record of this individual’s life, it is pretty clear that Jesus was not stupid. He never confessed to anything. He never did anything that needed confessing.

However, he openly and consistently accepted responsibility for everyone of his actions, including cleaning out the church that day. So, given the historical record we have, it is clear that he was crucified because he was a doer of good deeds not a criminal.

2. Being Jesus like is not running out and getting yourself crucified. It involves carefully and with vigilance doing what you can where you are to aid the expansion of consciousness, to help our brothers and sisters to see who they are and what is going on. If your good enough at this and gain a sufficient amount of recognition, being Jesus like will often, as the historical record shows, lead to being murdered in one way or another.

This possibility, of course, has very little to do with whether one does good deeds or not. I would recommend Martin L. Kings Mountain Top Speech.

So, my early venture into Jesus being turned out to be one of the early lessons of life. There were more to come; however, I relate this particular event to help discriminate between what is and what is not a good deed. The point being that “Good can only come from Good.”

That Good can only come from Good is a seemingly simple statement. It is simple just like the statement E=MC2. Good can only come from Good is a formula, minus the usual math symbols, that gives the essence of what doing good deeds is all about. Think of It this way, good can only come from good, and only good will come from good.

A good deed is an embodiment of the energy of Good, the Primary energy of universe. Actions initiated for the purpose of receiving some personal benefit may actually do somebody some good. For example, if the good deed doer escorts a blind person across a busy street, the blind person receives some good i.e. he or she does not get run over by the garbage truck. However if the motive for the action is that one wants to be noticed as a good deed doer to enhance ones standing within his group or even within his own sense of self, one is short circuiting the energy flow of the Good.

This is a crucial understanding of good deed doing that often is not included in the teaching of our children to do good deeds. The doing of a good, good deed must spring from a point of selfless service. Children are able to understand this discrimination often much better than adults because they are relatively free of the programming that causes identification with one’s forms and thus relatively more closely aligned with their soul intent.

Good is the energy of Universe, the Primary Energy. Good deeds are actions that infuse a field with the Good, and reveal the concordance or harmony in Universe. Such an action will serve the Common Good and General Welfare, in either a tiny or huge way, and in some practical useful and inclusive manner reveal the true nature of the brotherhood of Life.

Explaining to our children what constitutes a good deed and encouraging them to do good deeds will create in them a habit for the good. It will help to expand and develop the consciousness and humanity within the child. Eventually The notion of everyone on the planet doing a truly good deed a day is not a pipe dream. It is an achievable goal.

GOOD DEEDS!

So, I was walking into the market and these 4 boys who were hanging out at the door, said “Good morning sir.” I said “Howdy partners.”, and, noting that they were Boy Scouts, went in and did my hunt and gather thing.

On the way out, they asked me if I wanted to support the Boy Scouts. I said, “nope.” I walked back to my car, and deposited my gather in Wezkuhl’s trunk, (that’s my Prius’ name). I had to go to the store next to the market to gather some other stuff, and as I walked by the Boy scouts, I decided that I would ask them how their boy scouting was going.

I stopped in front of them and said, “ O.K. you guys, I have a few questions for you.” They all said, “yeah”. I looked at the biggest kid. He was about 12 maybe 13. I asked him, “Did you do a good deed to day?” He looked shocked and said, “good question!” He looked sort of blank and then he said, kind of excited, “Yeah. This morning, my brother wanted to go to an antique show, but he would have had to spend most of his time here. I told him I would do it for him.”

“Excellent!” I said and turned to the next kid.

“What about you, brother?” He looked all sheepish and said, “I haven’t done one yet.” I said very good, the operative word there being YET!

The next kid also said he had not done one yet. I asked him if he didn’t think that being in front of the store raising money for the Boy Scouts was a good deed. He looked relieved and smiled.

The last kid was a little guy, maybe 7 or 8 but smallish of frame. “O.K. short round, how about you?” He started to say he had not done one and then said, “Wait! A shopping cart was rolling out into traffic, and I ran out and got it and parked it in the cart slot.” I said “Great.” I took out my money clip and peeled off a $20. “O.K. you guys, if you have change for a twenty I will support the boy scouts.

They instantly said they had change for a twenty, and started to walk around this big pillar that was behind us. When I went around the pillar, I saw three adults, a man and 2 women, sitting at a card table handling the money. I said, “Oh HI. I guess you heard my good deed quiz." They were, pleased, and smiling and indicated that they had.

On the way home I was thinking about this whole thing, about the spontaneousness of it all. And then got to thinking about good deeds. There are 6.5 billion humans on the planet. Eliminate the ones too young to do the good deed thing, and we have,say, 5 billion people. Supposing every single one of us did 1 good deed a day. That would be 5 billion good deeds. That would have to do something for the Common Good and the General Welfare… You think?

It’s Mainly About Balance

We are pretty much all in agreement that Balance is good.We want balance.

But just what is balance? When most people think about balance, they think about a horizontal thing, a line or a board, with a fulcrum in the middle and stuff on either side that weighs the same, so that the board is level. Like that teeter tauter you used to play on at the playground. From this sense we get all kinds of notions.

Right now many of us think the planet is out of balance. The notion is that the progeny of the Great Illusion, selfishness and its manifestation such as cruelty, personal greed, exclusivity and privilege at the expense of the common good, is so powerful and pervasive that the planet itself is in danger of collapse. We need to bring it back into balance.

Besides the few proponents of Greed, who is going to argue with that?
So, we are endeavoring to bring the situation into some kind of balance. We struggle mightily to bring things like personal greed, superiority, exclusivity, privilege, things that militate against the common good and general welfare under some kind of control. We are struggling to elect individuals who will pass laws that will contain and control this kind of destructive energy. Thus we hope to bring the teeter tauter scale into balance.

This is good as far as it goes. However, it seems reactive, and I think that if we have a better understanding of balance and the causes for the imbalance in the system we could work more effectively from a proactive energy directing stance.

Lets take a quick look at the meaning and significance of the concept of balance. Is balance really an equal distribution of power between evil and good? Is it O.K. to have greed and criminality in an equal amount to the common good and general welfare. We have two tons of cruelty on one side of the scale and two tons of loving kindness on the other. Does that equal balance?

Not in my mind.

I think we get into these kinds of dead end alleys because of our habit of thinking horizontally or linearly. If we can think holographiclly and multi dimensionally about balance we get a different take. There are a number of words in our language that indicate the deeper meanings and significance of balance. These are concepts like harmony, coherence, synthesis and identification.

Any presence at all of the frequencies of illusion like selfishness and greed within a system renders the system out of harmony with the Will of the Creator. To the extent that they exist the system is inharmonious, incoherent and out of balance.

If there were total harmony within the system, would that mean it was out of balance, or would it manifest perfect balance. I offer Master R’s observation on this subject. “For in perfect balance there is no weight. Thus one more step and hidden meaning of a so oft-quoted Truth is revealed "In Heaven, so on Earth.”

So, at the form levels of everyday life, we are dealing with the effects of some inharmonious frequencies within the hologram of our planet. We struggle to offset these by trying to generate programs and systems whose goal is to continually bring in more harmony.

By the way, we all realize that each of us is a microcosmic manifestation of our planet, so all of this pertains to our individual daily lives too. Imagine what it would be like to bring ones hologramic appearance into perfect balance or harmony. Not too hard to fly when there is no weight.

Thus do we struggle on micro and macro levels. We have been so struggling for a very long time to bring to harmony out of conflict. And, all of this struggle must eventually evoke a question, several questions.


What is it that is throwing the system so out of balance, that generates the frequencies of discord and incoherence within our systems? How are these frequencies of discord and illusion propagated and kept active within our systems?

It’s like something is missing, the part of the song that makes the harmony, a “lost chord” so to speak.

Well, this may not be all of the answer, but I think the feminine Principle is the bigger part of the missing piece. Depending on how you look at it, it’s at least one third of the manifestation of the created Hologram of Planet Earth.

Well, we are pretty sure that no Principle part can be missing from the whole of a creation, or the creation could not manifest: Father, Son, Mother; Will, Consciousness, Manifest World. These three always and only co-exist.

So, What’s up here? What is going on?

Well, if it can’t be missing, then it must have been hijacked and hidden away somehow. That is exactly the problem. It is also the reason for the urgency that we do something about this “missing” piece, for without it in full functioning mode, we are headed for a rather sever makeover.

It did not take much detective work to find this piece, after all it is one third of the whole bag or maybe even half if you think of consciousness as the substantial link that enables the two to stick together. So We think it has been tucked away behind a veil. And we are pretty sure that this was accomplished by those Brothers of the Dark Side plying their nefarious trades of deception, lying and obfuscation.

The hijack went something like this: The feminine principle was, through a variety of methods and techniques, desecrated. Thus the essential evolutionary role of this principle was eliminated from the processes of manifestation of the Plan resulting in gross distortions and discord.

Rather than the essential, pure and divine, nurturing Mother, the Source of all matter for the construction for all forms, the incarnating aspect of this principle in the presence of women was cast as being a subordinate object, manufactured as an afterthought from the flesh of the male (which translates into ownership of all property). She was also cast as the original betrayer of “God’s Will,” the vessel of iniquity, the doorway through which evil made its entry into the world.

This is all rather “biblical” language. The way it translated over the eons was simply that women were the “weaker” sex; stupid, needy, untrustworthy, good for menial tasks, and any tasks that women were good at were automatically relegated to the inferior category. One could go on for a few more pages, but the notion is clear.

It is something of note on the power of the Dark Side and their effective use of charisma to mesmerize and just plain scare the bejeebers out of humans that many if not most women went along with this hoax.

In the long run, the lack of the feminine Principle is so much more serious than how many women are getting elected and so forth. The missing frequency of the feminine Principle has lain and does lie at the heart of practically every major social and political issue we have had and are experiencing now including lousy schools, rampant drug usage, crime of all kinds,15,000,000 unemployed people in the United States, the huge bank robberies and failures, and the recently reinforced and more or less constant reiteration of the horrible thoughtform of “endless war” which we have been experiencing, time out of mind.

O.K. We know the problem, the cause, and the perpetrators, and we can make a pretty good guess at what were heading for if we do not fix this absurdity sooner rather than later. So, a possible solution:

Within the governments, and social institutions of the world, there are many, many individuals working on this problem. There have been successes, like woman’s suffrage, and advances in the employment sectors, but the problem is like an ancient cancer deeply rooted and metastasized to the fabric of society. Using the objective political and economic tools we have at hand, we can perhaps hold it up, delay it; even make incremental gains, but I do not think we can actually eliminate it from the hologram in time to avoid the consequences.

These are the issues with which we are dealing. It is very apparent that our efforts to impact the situation along horizontal lines are being thwarted at every turn. The Dark Side is entrenched (literally) in practically every field of human endeavor, and they battle any effort to bring correction and harmony into the field. The gutting of the recently passed Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (See Matt Taibbi's article in the August 19th issue of Rolling Stone.) is an excellent example, as is the recently passed “Health Bill”.

We need to open a new front along vertical lines. This front is actually already open, but it needs immediate and overwhelming reinforcements. I am referring to our Community wide efforts regarding meditation as a service to the world.

The externalized Hierarchy in the presence of its co-workers in incarnation is stronger than it has been in many thousands of years. In my view, one of the most proactive, powerful and practically useful things this Outer Community of meditators and disciples could do would be to focus an immediate and rhythmical meditative effort to contact, embody and consciously and deliberately distribute the frequencies of the feminine Principle throughout the fabric of our daily lives.

This kind of proactive service mediation involves the use of the Love or Pure Reasoning Will of Sanat Kumara. In this we will be dealing with causes rather than trying to offset effects with new effects. We can provide a field of expanding and brightening light that will be available to all our coworkers who are battling the forces of retrogression in the horizontal trenches of the governmental , financial, educational and social fronts. These are our coworkers who are attempting to build the forms for the new harmonies which can and will offset the eons long presence of chaos which is the inharmonious frequency in our planetary hologram.

In addition we will be greatly empowering and advancing the expansion of consciousness from the illusory identification with the separated self to the recognition of our essential divinity and brotherhood with all Life including humanity. It is this effect in particular that will accelerate the spread of harmony throughout the fabric of the hologram. Our effort will undoubtedly be of great help to the processes of the externalizing Hierarchy and reappearing Christ. This service opportunity is open to any disciple. It matters little whether one is a woman or man. Any disciple can contact and embody and distribute the frequencies of the feminine Principle.

Distribution has to do with seeding the lower mental plane with the meaning and significance of this particular aspect of the One Life. It is this work that will provide the field of expanding and brightening Light that will support and empower the efforts of our coworkers. Finally, in doing this work, we will be invoking through the distorting veil of illusion and lies into the fiery world of Light. The answering fire of evocation will destroy the veil placed so long ago by the forces of retrogression and allow the balancing energy of this principle to bring harmony and coherence in huge flows into our systems.

Pondering on aspects of the feminine Principle is in itself a wonderful adventure. The effort to touch, embody and distribute these aspects is a giant step into that perfect balance in which there is no weight, and in which one understands that the Divine Feminine is Goodwill which is the embodiment of Logoic Will to Good.

First and foremost, among the aspects of the feminine Principle, at least in my vision, is the presence of Beauty. Wherever one encounters Beauty, one is encountering the feminine aspect of the Creator.

There are many other aspects of this everywhere and always present living energy waiting to be encountered, embodied and co-creatively released into the fabric of our daily lives.

The Emerging Synthesis

For over twenty-five hundred years, a large part of Humanity has been engaged in revealing the synthesis which exists between the East and the West. In the last five hundred years or so, much has been written and published by scholars about the “Meeting of East and West.” While this merging is still far from complete, it has gone a long way. I personally have no problem with seeing and understanding that the basic message most clearly and extensively laid out in the West by Plato and other teachers and the basic message laid out in the Buddha’s Teachings as well as those we have from the Hindu Teachers of many centuries ago, are from the same stream of the Ageless Wisdom. In the deconstruction, they say basically the same thing, and indicate basically the same unfolding evolutionary path for humanity on this planet.

The wedge that was consciously driven between these various streams of The Wisdom and has kept them separated is religion. This is not an indictment of religion as a concept. It is pointing to the uses to which humanity’s innate hunger, its need for understanding the world within which it finds itself, has been put by those who do not wish to see a synthesized humanity and planet, who are interested in maintaining the Great Lie of Separation and the materialistic vision which they use to promulgate and foster it.

As they must, these identities are failing. Their path leads to a dead end, literally. Deconstructed and demystified, religion is actually the study and implementation of the Cosmic Physics embedded in the Law of Spiritual Approach. This new scientific approach to the Principles and Laws of physics that underlie the creation of human existence removes the veils of fear, obfuscation, glamour and separation which have enshrouded and warped the Truth of The Ageless Wisdom. The Ageless Wisdom when it is properly presented reveals what is and always has been going on around us in the endless ocean of energy in which we live, move and have our being. It provides us with tiny windows into the ultimate Purpose of Universe and enables us to make wise choices and to intelligently implement them to foster the Common Good and the General Welfare of the whole planet.

Now, while the revelation of the synthesis of East and West is well underway, we are embarking on, or better, bringing to the surface the next phase in the Emerging Synthesis that is. This will be the Meeting of North and South, the merging of the two polar hemispheres of the Planet.

This merging is appropriately occurring during the manifestation of the Seventh Ray in the Aquarian Age which, in the ancient symbol for Aquarius, , has always promised the coming of what we call “Coherent Light”. Just as the Internet is the out picturing of humanity’s lower mental body, the manifestation of coherent light in laser technology is the out picturing evidence of our successful building of what in the Ageless Wisdom is called the Antahkarana.

Thus, the emerging synthesis of the polar hemispheres is essentially the grounding of the Piscean Age which through the Teachings of Avatars and Forerunners such as Plato and Buddha opened the Higher Way and made the appearance of the Christ possible through humanity’s growing Co-Creative power. This grounding will manifest through the construction of the new civilizations and world cultures based on the Principles and Laws of Cosmic Physics which Master D. K. has identified and named as the Principles of Essential Divinity, Goodwill and Unanimity and the Laws of Right Human Relations, Group Endeavour and Spiritual Approach.

To foster the expansion of this effort, Arcana Workshops is undertaking an introduction to and an expansion of various Teachings from the Maya and other Southern Hemisphere Cultures. For those of us who are steeped in the Trans Himalayan Teachings, the thing to remember is that these Teachings are simply thoughtform presentations of the Ageless Wisdom which have come from the Teachers and Avatars of civilizations and cultures different that those with which we are familiar.
These Teachings are, therefore, as complex and abstract as those which we have studied for many years. They are not alien or separate in any way from the thoughtform presentations with which we are familiar. Truth is One. The Wisdom is One. The formulations are many.

We need to avoid the mistake which a large section of the esoteric community made 60 years ago when confronted with the thoughtform presentation of the Wisdom which was known as the Nature of the Soul. For some 35 years, this extremely profound presentation of the Wisdom was denied creditability by any number of aspirants and disciples who refused to accept that any Teaching other than that which Alice A. Bailey brought through from Master D.K. was authentic. Thankfully, most of this non-thinking approach has dissipated, but not without a loss of precious time and damage to relationships.

Some 25 years ago at Arcana Workshops, we whole heartedly accepted and began the study of the Teachings brought through from Master R. by Lucille Cedercrans. We have discovered that the thoughtform presentations of the Wisdom from both Master D.K. and R are absolutely co-supportive and together lend an enormous light to the understanding of the very deep abstractions of Cosmic Physics which make up the core of the Ageless Wisdom. It is our expectation that through the introduction of the thoughtform presentations of the Wisdom that came through the Maya and other Southern Hemisphere Cultures humanity will only be enriched and the wholeness of our reality will become even more evident.

This is an unfolding service experiment for our group. Given the approaching synchronicity of the 2012 Solar Cycle alignment, it is one which we think is rightly timed and greatly needed. More on this subject later.

Consider this:
The Authority Test
When we are consciously endeavoring to build the higher alignment, we encounter a whole host of challenges that are completely different from those encountered in the efforts to pass the first two gates. I do not want to go into all of the challenges and tests that we encounter in this particular stage of the building. Many of us are well aware of many of them.

I wish to highlight one issue in particular. Over the past 25 years or so in working with individuals who are members of the planetary intelligentsia and who are beginning to awaken to the new group consciousness, that inner Fire we call Soul, I have encountered this thoughtform many, many times. It appears to be a serious, if not major obstacle for this rapidly unfolding group of brothers and sisters. In this light, it is good for us to understand that the expanding consciousness not only “awakens” or brings into conscious recognition Soul presence, it simultaneously calls out all of that within the field which will be in opposition to the expanding reality of the Soul.

The particular issue upon which I wish to focus is a boiler plate product of form identification. It is almost always present, and as the self focused persona integrates and gains power, the thoughtform which embodies this particular problem also integrates and gains power. Thus, this particular very subtle obstacle appears late in the developmental stage and is a formidable barrier to creating and entering into what I think of as the Higher Alignment.

This particular problem is always associated with the thoughtform, force field or ideal we call authority. In the illusionary reality of the separated persona, authority has to do with rulership and not leadership. The nuances of how rulership authority appears in a disciple’s life and clouds his or her vision are numerous and subtle. The sense of personal authority often masks a deep sense of pride and births such notions as exclusivity, privilege and entitlement. As we progress on the Path of Initiation this particular challenge takes on a more and more sophisticated appearance. All of these appearances, however, have one objective and that is to enslave the free will of the disciple in an illusion of extreme separativeness. One can become enslaved either as an authority or as a devotee of an authority.

How Authority Seems To Work
In general, the thoughtform of authority is germinated and gains definition and power through a process of separation. One gradually becomes “greater” than or “more” than others in some respect: stronger, smarter, more cunning. Or, if we are talking about “spiritual” individuals, more wise, pure, holy, sensitive, loving.

At any rate, one becomes an expert or authority in this or that. A deep objective and driving force in the development of becoming an authority is to gain a more enhanced view of one’s self and to overcome the learned and engrained sense of self worthlessness which frequently lies at one’s core.

The deliberate use of authority to impose a position or condition on others is totally alien to the Soul. As the separated persona gains status in authority we use all our power, knowledge and understanding to dominate and bend to our personal will and to the degree that we can our entire environment. Our success in this seems to us to enhance our personal value. Our effort is to gain authority over as wide a circle of our environment as possible.

As devotees of authority we frequently turn true teachers and leaders into authority figures and then shower and bask in their glow. We are flattered that we too are special and that simply by virtue of claiming association with such a wonderful being we too are authorities to those who we deem as lower or not as close to the aura of the authority figure as are we.

It is this particular nuance of authority that turns the concept of hierarchy inside out.

This particular obstacle or one might say in the technical language “glamour” is one of the last barriers the disciple faces on his or her way into the Higher Alignment. The sense of authority, either as a ruler or as subservient to a ruler only exists in the illusory world of separation. Building the Higher alignment is a group endeavor. Success inevitably leads one ever deeper into the realization that the soul is group conscious, and that separation is an illusion.

Standing in the clear light of the soul, the acquisition of knowledge or any skill or art is totally dedicated to the service of humanity. One becomes expert so that one can better give, can be a more perfect instrument of service to the Plan. In the process one discovers the meaning and significance of the ancient Way. “Through self forgetfulness, We gather what we need for the helping of our fellow man.”

Leadership and Rulership
As humanity moves from the illusion of the separated self conscious view of reality into the new holistic or group conscious realization of Life, we move from the authority of rulership into the responsibility of leadership. This evolution or movement, in a broad way, can be seen as the process of evolving through intellect into Wisdom. One gradually ceases to be an authority and becomes a teacher or way shower, a leader rather than a ruler.

The function of a leader is to reveal the Endless Way we call the Path. The leader does this by embodying and living the Path. It is not the function of a leader to lead anyone but him or herself.

The function of a ruler or an authority is to impose a program on others. The function of a devotee is to follow the ruler and impose the ruler’s programs on other lesser beings. Each of us is “condemned” to freely choose to follow the path of his or her choosing. If we choose to choose to abrogate our free will, we will reap the experience of that particular choice. It is through such experiments over kalpas of time that humanity has learned to understand the deep limitations and glamour of authority and or rulership.

The simple fact is that there is no authority except Truth. The first premise of Truth is that there is no authority because Truth is infinite, ever beyond our grasp. Whatever little understanding we hold, including this one will eventually be revealed as a tiny fraction of a greater understanding.

There is an additional aspect to the glamour of authority that plagues many would be disciples.

Many of us have lived through many lives as both perpetrators, and victims of authoritarianism. The net result of all this experience, most of which was extremely uncomfortable, is that there abides deep within the consciousness of many of us a very strong sensitivity to the presence of any kind of authority. Most of us have probably been told at one time or another by those in authority over us that we have a problem with authority. How true.

Something “goes off” as soon as we sense any approach as a possible effort to gain power over us. Our automatic reaction to such a sensing is a strong, sometimes violent, rejection of whatever it was that we think is threatening us. In one respect this is good, In another it can be a tremendous, subtle and difficult blockage to our progress as Souls

This condition, particularly when it manifests in “spiritual” circles is sometimes called the glamour of self sovereignty. This glamour has many masks, but it often manifests as a proactive and arrogant defense mechanism called skepticism. Its most deadly form is doubt.

The genetic thoughtform of this proactive mechanism feels like and seems to be rooted in fear. We have had countless experiences in which we have been victimized by those in authority over us. Thus the fear of losing our own authority over ourselves and there by being dominated by some other person or force is deeply engrained and very powerful. The reaction is usually a thoughtless kneejerk rejection, often violent, of anything that appears to us to deviate or challenge in any way the held positions from which we derive our sense of personal authority and comfort. We see such incoming data or views as an effort to gain authority over us.

This rejection of "authority" frequently manifests as rebellion to any kind of guidance or help that would have us see things in a different perhaps more clear light. The victim of this very subtle glamour frequently blocks him/herself from any kind of guidance from the higher dimensions of Life.

Not a very efficient way to walk the Path.

“There was a time when (in the early history of the planet) there was no Hierarchy; there were only two major centers in the expression of the life of the Lord of the World: Shamballa and His embryonic throat centre, Humanity. Shamballa was the head centre.” During this time, “certain developed and informed Lives” lived and walked among men and more or less shepherded infant humanity along the Path of evolution. Eventually infant humanity became capable of being impressed with the Living Plan. “but the matter aspect and quality—that of active intelligence—was so strong that the second historical phase became essential.” The Rays and Initiations P. 380-5

This was the creation of the Hierarchy. The heart center of the Lord of the World came into being, and became a “mediating center between Shamballa and Humanity.” The 2nd Ray Ashram was the first functioning Ashram in the heart Center. According to the lore (See the material from The Rays and Initiations P. 380-5) the next Ashram to get up and running was the 7th Ray Ashram. The other six Ashrams came into focus over very long periods of time, with the First Ray ashram being the last.

Regarding the present manifestation of the Ashram of Synthesis:

Master R tells us that “This Synthetic Ashram is actually being recreated, for at another time, that which I can refer to as not exactly an analogy, not exactly a correspondence of this Ashram, was in existence.” Ashramic Projections P.36 The Hierarchy is the Ashram of Sanat Kumara. When the 2nd and 7th Ray Ashrams were generated, they were done so from the 1st Ray center, Shamballa. Thus the initial Hierarchical appearance on the planet was a synthesis of the 1st ray aspect from Shamballa, and the 2nd 7th ray aspects within the Heart Center. It is possible that this ashramic alignment is what Master R. is referring to as “not exactly an analogy, not exactly a correspondence of this Ashram, was in existence.”

So, suppose that the earlier manifestation of the Synthetic Ashram to which Master R. refers was functioning during the period when Humanity generated the cataclysm which wiped out the Atlantean Civilization, and broke the Antahkarana. After this event, the Ashram was disintegrated. “Its members were forced to reenter the evolutionary process almost at the animal man stage and to recapitulate the growth and development achieved up through the evolutionary process until [they] have arrived at this point in awareness [Realization of their membership in the present manifestation of the Ashram of synthesis.] .” Ashramic Projections P36

It seems that it was a very long time before the 1st Ray Ashram came into focus within the heart center. Thus the initial existence of “not exactly an analogy, not exactly a correspondence of this Ashram,” to which Master R. is referring could well have been this early alignment of 1,2,7.

Many of us are experiencing a very powerful sense of rushing forward into the new. We are all aware of the acceleration of events in all areas of our lives. We are pondering on the causes and forces that are driving this event chain.

In an appendix to his Nine Chains To The Moon Buckminster Fuller provided, as only he could, an exhaustive listing of scientific advances and inventions from ancient times to the 1936. From about the time just preceding the Renaissance, the acceleration of scientific advances and technological development is very obvious.
For purposes of this consideration, I will point out from innumerable post 1936 examples just a couple that indicate the accelerating rate of this acceleration.
From the beginning of recorded history to the first controlled powered airplane flight in the U.S. at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina December 17, 1903 was, who knows how long?
First manmade object to reach the moon September 13, 1959.
First human on moon July 20, 1969.

From Kitty Hawk to the moon in 56 years and 10 years later, man walks on the moon.
Electronic room sized computers developed in 1940-45.
Personal computer with 2 floppy drives and a 10 megabyte hard drive 1991.
5 pound “notebook” computer with millions of times the processing power and storage capacity, 1995. Today, the flash card in my Cool Pix 3 10Megapixel digital pocket camera can hold 4 gigabytes of data.

As we are all aware, there are many other examples of this acceleration in all areas of human life that could be noted.

There is another perhaps even more amazing acceleration ongoing as we write:

In the year 1000, it is estimated that there were 275 million people on the planet.
In 1650 it is estimated that there were 500 million people on the planet.
It took 650 years to make 225 million people.
In 1804 the estimate is 1 billion.
It took only a 150 years to make 500 million.
In 1900 approximately 1.6 billion.
It took about 100 years to make 600 million
In 1965 3.3 Billion
It took 65 years to make 1.7 Billion
In 2009 6.8 Billion.
It took 44 years to make 3.5 billion.

Astounding! Yeah….

But what is going on here? What is the result of this amazing population acceleration? Could there be a connection between the population acceleration and the acceleration of science and technology developments as well as all the other areas of human life?

I think so.

Consider this:
We know, guess, that the level of intellect or intelligence varies among individuals, some being rather “smarter” than others. We considered, rather ambitiously, that perhaps 25% were what we could call members of group A, the intelligentsia, and these would range from “genius” to average, “IQ” range from 300 to 110 or so. Another 25% would be members of group B. O.K. or sort of average, “IQ” range from 109 to 95 or so. The remaining 50% would be group C at relative stages of “ignorance”.

So, we could guess that there were 68,750,000 or so group A people on the planet in year 1000. Assuming that the percentages of the various groups stayed the same as the centuries rolled by, the numbers of group A people on the planet by 1650 was 125 million, by 1800, 250 million, by 1900 there are 400 million group A people on the planet, and by 2009 there are 1.7 billion group A people on the planet.

Now, recalling this bit from the Agless Wisdom Teachings:
"Humanity is intended to be the medium wherein certain activities can be instituted. It [Humanity] is in reality the brain of the planetary Deity, its many units being analogous to the brain cells in the human apparatus. Just as the human brain, made up of an infinite number of sentient responsive cells, can be suitably impressed when quiescence has been achieved, and can become the medium of expression for the plans and purposes of the soul, transmitting its ideas via the mind, so the planetary Deity, working under the inspiration of the Universal Mind, can impress humanity with the purposes of God and produce consequent effects in the world of phenomena." A Treatise on White Magic P.527

So, what do you think? A connection? Does this put population growth in a proper perspective?

My thinking is that the planet functioning under the Principles and Laws of the Plan can beautifully support several billions more of us. Try to think beyond the myopic horizon of the separated individual.

It is quite clear to me that the problems we are encountering in terms of starvation and disease and general destruction of the planet's environment and life support systems have been generated by our self centered economic and political systems. When those 1.7 billion group A brain cells shift their focus form personal aggrandizement and enrichment to the Common Good and the General Welfare we will see the dawning of Aquarius as it has been Planned.
